FAQs

Can I claim on private health insurance?

Yes. A number of the main private health funds have recognised my services as meeting their standards for private insurance cover. These include Medibank, Bupa, AHM, and ARHG. Please ask for an invoice which will display the provider number you will need to make a claim.

Do you provide a service for NDIS clients?

Yes. If you have an NDIS managed plan you are able to access my services once your provider approves the funding for you.

Do I have to attend all sessions in person?

We provide services in-person and by telehealth via ZOOM. Where possible, we encourage in-person contact for a richer, more fulfilling therapy experience. However we recognise that this is not always possible, and at these times it is a good alternative to make contact and conduct sessions through our telehealth process.

What is your cancellation policy?

Because we operate a busy practice, we may be able to offer someone on our waitlist an appointment if you are no longer able to attend. We ask that you give us a minimum of 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule your appointment. If you cancel within 24 hours, you may be charged a cancellation fee. But don't worry, we'll send you an SMS reminder of  your appointment 24 hours before.

How long are my appointments and how frequently will I have to attend?

Your appointments will be one hour long. The frequency of your appointments is variable, and will depend on the degree of difficulty you are experiencing, your degree of urgency, and an assessment of the duration of time needed between appointments to digest and implement changes. We'll collaborate on this decision.

What should I bring with me?

For therapy there are no specific requirements to being anything with you other than drinking water. From time to time you may be asked to complete some form of exercise / homework between sessions such as journaling. In this case you are welcome to bring your work with you.

Is your work evidenced-based?

Our work is both evidence-based and evidence-informed. We have studied and continue to study leading edge advances in trauma and therapy research, methods and knowledge.

Is your work trauma-informed?
Our work is trauma-informed. We keep up to date with the latest in trauma-informed approaches with an emphasis on childhood/relational/developmental trauma that underpins almost all of the ongoing and difficult to navigate concerns that adults experience throughout life. It is through our commitment to professional development that we keep ourselves current in order to serve our clients exceptionally well.
